Plan Your Hatteras Fishing Trip With Confidence

A great offshore fishing trip starts with being prepared. Below you’ll find helpful information about what to bring, fishing licenses, keeping your catch, weather, and what to expect before heading offshore aboard the Release.

Whether this is your first charter or you’ve fished Hatteras before, Captain Rom and the crew are here to make your day safe, comfortable, and enjoyable.

What Should I Bring?

Guests should bring food, drinks, sunscreen, sunglasses, a hat, comfortable clothing, and any personal items they may need for the day.
Soft-sided coolers are best for food and drinks. Please avoid bringing large hard coolers aboard unless discussed in advance.
Do I Need a Fishing License?

No. A fishing license is not required for guests fishing aboard the Release. The charter boat license covers everyone on the trip.
Can We Keep Our Fish?

Yes. Guests can keep legal fish caught during the trip. Captain Rom and the crew will let you know which fish can be kept based on current regulations and conditions.
What If the Weather Is Bad?

Safety always comes first. If weather or sea conditions are not suitable, Captain Rom will contact you to discuss rescheduling options.

Pricing, Refund Policy & Tips

Please review the pricing, deposit, cancellation, and tip information before booking your offshore fishing trip aboard the Release.

Trip Pricing

$2,205.00 per day for credit card customers.

$2,100.00 per day for check and cash customers.

Refund & Cancellation Policy

Trips are cancelled only by the Captain due to windy conditions or rough seas.

There are no advance refunds.

All refunds are based on the Captain’s discretion.

If a trip cannot go out due to weather or sea conditions, rescheduling may also be offered as an option.

Deposit & Balance

A $500.00 deposit is required within two weeks of booking your trip.

The remaining balance is due on your fishing day.

Tips & Gratuity

Tips are not required, but they are customary and always appreciated.

A typical tip is 15% to 20% of the cost of the trip.

The mates work hard to make your trip safe, enjoyable, and successful. If you are not pleased with your experience, please let Captain Rom know.
